Magoosh (pronunciation: mə’guːʃ) (a play on the Old Persian word magush, which describes a sensible person and this word also represents Iranian origin) is an online test preparation and research study abroad counselling business based in Berkeley, California that educates students through audio/video lessons, practice test questions, and online e-mail assistance.

Bhavin Parikh and previous co-founder Pejman Pour-Moezzi, together with Lee’s fiancée Wendy Lim, established The Hansoo Lee Fellowship for Business Owners, which is used each year to support Haas MBA trainees wanting to pursue their entrepreneurial ventures full-time. After Hansoo’s passing, Bhavin became the CEO and the only remaining co-founder of Magoosh.
In 2015, it introduced complete prep programs for the ACT, LSAT and Praxis tests. And in 2016, the business launched a complete MCAT product. To date, Magoosh has about 30 in-office staff members at its offices in downtown Berkeley and more than 1.5 million students have actually used Magoosh’s web and mobile apps to get ready for standardized exams.
